Any pedigrees uploaded to a server running the software remains the property of the original owner; EasyPedigreeDB claims no rights in regards to this data. EasyPedigreeDB provides tools that allow the owner of the system control over who can access the pedigrees. Your pedigrees will not be shared with other EasyPedigreeDB users without your explicitly sharing it with them.

Third Party Integrations

EasyPedigreeDB contains features that make integrations with the Pedigrees2020 software. EasyPedigreeDB maintains a security layer between itself and this third party software which prevents unauthorized access.

Pedigrees2020 implements its own security, and an EasyPedigreeDB database can be configured to trust Pedigrees2020 with anonymous access. In this case EasyPedigreeDB "trusts" the Pedigrees2020 software to prevent the user from accessing the data in an unauthorized way. EasyPedigreeDB uses secure time-evolving hashes to ensure that access is only granted to validated Pedigrees2020 software.

This type of external access can be configured to many different levels, including being completely disabled, or requiring the Pedigrees2020 users to supply a user name and password to access the pedigree data.

Errors and Omissions

While EasyPedigreeDB works hard to prevent unauthorized access to user pedigree data, there may be vulnerabilities in the software unknown to EasyPedigreeDB that would allow a hacker to break into the database. Users of the EasyPedigreeDB system agree not to hold EasyPedigreeDB liable for damages that may be caused by data breaches, understanding that EasyPedigreeDB will, in good faith, maintain software that, to the best of its knowledge, does not contain defects that would allow unauthorized access, and fixes all such defects that it becomes aware of in a timely manner.
